It ingests bank feeds from 10,000+ institutions via Plaid, categorizes transactions using proprietary ML and agentic reasoning, syncs two-way with QuickBooks and Xero, generates reconciliations in under one second, and produces audit-ready compliance exports — all without a human in the loop by default.
For the 5–10% of accounting events that genuinely require human judgment — complex multi-entity consolidations, tax return sign-off, regulatory audits — we maintain a network of independent, licensed US-based CPA firms available as an escalation layer. They review, sign, and hold professional liability. You keep the customer relationship and the recurring revenue.
Most accounting platforms are built around human workflows with some automation sprinkled in. We built the opposite: an autonomous agent as the primary path, with a licensed CPA network as an optional escalation layer for cases that actually need it.
We didn't bolt a general LLM onto accounting. We trained a proprietary categorization model on millions of financial transactions with domain-specific fine-tuning. It improves continuously as usage scales — a data moat that general AI won't replicate quickly.

Accountancy laws in most states dictate that licensed CPA services can only be offered by CPA-owned entities. HeadlessCPA Inc. is a technology company, not a CPA firm. Licensed services (such as issuing signed tax returns) are performed by independent CPA firms in the HeadlessCPA network, operating via an Alternative Practice Structure. This means you get the scale of our software paired with the regulatory compliance of licensed public accountants.
